Grand Canyon

Our next stop is the Grand Canyon. We are staying in trailer village. that's the name of the campground in the park. it's a very strange place. there apparantly permanent residents here in trailer village b/c there's a school bus stop here.

four corners

After Arches we headed south to 4 corners. We were expecting it to be a big deal with lots of stuff to do and places to stay. So, we decided to drive at night while the boys were sleeping and just find somewhere to stay when we got there. Well, it turns out that 4 corners is in the middkle of nowhere with nothing around. So we ended up at a truck stop next to a casino. what you see in the pict. is all there is to it. the boys thought it was cool to all be in different states at the same time.

arches, utah

We spent a couple of days in Arches national park in Utah. It was so amazing to see the rock formations. the boys loved climbing on all the rocks. Barrett and Luke earned their jr. ranger badges again at arches. After arches we decided to head south to the grand canyon with a stop at four corners.

Our first broken bone goes to.........

So, apparently there's a reason why you shouldn't go down the slide standing up. Although it did display incredible balance, it also caused 2 fractures in Luke's hand. We spent the morning at an orthopedic dr. in Glenwood Springs today and had a cast put on. it is pretty cool though, it glows in the dark and is completely waterproof. He has to keep it on for about 4 weeks.
Of course, he really doesn't care, he does think it's pretty cool that now he doesn't have to use a baseball bat, he can just hit a ball with his cast.

Flint is 5 months old

My how time flies!! Flint is already 5 months old.
He is so much fun these days. he's started rolling over, sitting up, still spitting up, eating cereal, more spitting up. He has the cutest belly laugh. the boys can really get him laughing. And although he still sleeps about as good as a onw week old, i'd say he's a keeper.

Rocky Mountain National Park

The Garrigan's new home--- on wheels. We've made a slight upgrade from the Amerigo. If you thought we were crazy before--well, we've decided to make the new camper our home. We're not real sure what that's going to look like, but I think it will be quite the adventure.

Peter is giving Flint a little "peter love" and Flint seemed alittle scared to death. It seems like i'm constantly saying, "Peter, quit licking me!"

Barrett and Luke earned their Jr. Ranger Badges at the Rocky Mtn. National Park. They had to complete a booklet with animals, different spots in the park and they had to watch a movie about the national parks.

One Morning we had a few visitors at our campsite. There are elk everywhere at the park. Peter loved seeing the "baby elk". We also camped next to a retired man, Tom, who was at the park photographing the animals. He showed us the Holmes Comet which apparently hasn't been able to be seen in a long time. And he showed Barrett the milky way and some other stars. He also played the Indian flute. He had 5 or 6 different ones that he played for the boys. They loved hearing them. I think we could stay in the park for a long time.
We are now back near boulder for the weekend and then we will head to Glenwood Springs and then down towards Bryce and Zion.
